The 2025 IPL Mega Auction is scheduled to take place over two days, November 24 and 25, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This pivotal event, held every three years, provides franchises an opportunity to revamp their squads. Each team is allowed to retain up to six players ahead of the auction, with specific retention slabs impacting their remaining budget. Retention options include a mix of capped and uncapped players, and franchises can also use Right to Match (RTM) cards during the auction process.

Notable signings in the 2025 IPL Mega Auction included Rishabh Pant, secured by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 27 crore, and Shreyas Iyer, picked up by punjab kings for INR 26.75 crore. For instance, Gujarat Titans signed Jos Buttler for INR 15.75 crore, while Rajasthan Royals spent INR 6.5 crore on pacer Tushar Deshpande.

AUCTION RULE :-

Auction maintains the rule limiting teams to a maximum of 25 players, with only eight overseas players per squad, of which four can play in any match. This ensures a mix of domestic and international talent in every team.
