Mafia turned politician Atiq Ahmed’s convoy is being escorted by the uttar pradesh police . The convoy entered UP on monday and is on its way to prayagraj . Earlier it crossed jhansi and made a brief halt at the shivpuri district before that . While the convoy is currently enroute ahmed’s brother Ashraf is also being taken by the police to prayagraj from the bareilly jail.
AHMED LODGED IN SABARMATI JAIL SINCE 2019 NAMED IN OVER 100 CRIMINAL CASES
Atiq Ahmed was a former samajwadi party MP from phulpur . He was shifted to the sabarmati central jail in june 2019 following a supreme court’s order after he was accused of orchestrating kidnapping and assault on a real estate businessman Mohit jaiswal. He is named in more than 100 criminal cases including the recent Umesh pal murder.
ATIQ AHMED TO BE BROUGHT UP BEFORE COURT IN PRAYAGRAJ TOMORROW
The UP police team reached the sabarmati jail in the morning and left the premises amid tight security with atiq ahmed. A court in prayagraj has set march 28 as the date to pass its order in a kidnapping case in which ahmed is accused.
