Actors and their craze and regularity for fitness goes hand in hand. And during the period of lockdown, fitness is something that has been given utmost importance. We speak to actor Arun Mandola who follows a strict fitness regime at home and has excelled in kick-boxing, weight training and mix martial arts training during the period of lockdown and does regular yoga and meditation.
Arun says, “I started yoga and meditation at the age of 16 and after 3-4 years, I started gyming for my fitness, and recently I have started up with mix martial arts. However, I always keep trying doing something different for my fitness and health. During lockdown period these days, I am doing weight training thrice a week and mix martial arts twice a week along with yoga all the days.”
Actor adds, “I used to walk every day for 2-33 kilometers and this I have been doing since childhood. But as I am unable to move out of the house, I am focusing on my health by doing weight training and mix martial arts.”
Speaking upon his diet, he says, “I don’t follow any strict diet routine because I cannot control my taste buds, but I don’t eat market supplements and outside food or junk food . I eat only home-cooked food like daal-sabzi, chapatti, rice and salad. But after the lockdown, I will follow a strict diet routine to maintain my physic.”
On fitness, actor puts, “Fitness is very important for an actor. It doesn’t mean you should have abs or heavy biceps, but one should remain fit and look good on camera. There are lot of senior super stars who does rigorous workouts like Amitabh Bachhan ji, Anil Kapoor sir at this age. They are on top and the reason is fitness, because jo fit hai woh hit hai.”
